Review of The Pool (2001) by Sarah C — 16 Aug 2008
I saw the trailer for this movie at the Ritz where I saw Chicago for the third time, and really had wanted to see it. Finally managed to two years later, and I'm kinda torn with it. On the one hand, the story, characters, setting and ending were all really good and well executed by everyone involved, but on the other was the needless use of nudity.
I mean the daughter is pretty much topless if she gets within twenty feet of the pool. I don't know what it is with the British, but when it's not a family movie, there's nudity everywhere you turn.
The full frontal scene was completely unnecessary. I mean Charlotte Rampling may be a damn good actress, but she's not the ripest fruit in the basket if you know what I mean. But other than that, it was a good movie.
