Review of The Pool (2001) by Trevor H — 25 Nov 2008
This was a pleasant surprise! An interesting and gently sinister thriller in which relationships come to the fore as Rampling, a cynical ageing author meets her agent's daughter. The very strange ending doesn't spoil the film, and the depiction of Sagnier's beauty in nakedness is not overdone.
Not at all. :-) The psychological twists, the innuendo, the suspicion of Rampling being attracted to Sagnier, the gardener having a field day (forgive the pun) all make for an enjoyable experience.
