Review of The Pool (2001) by Sean M — 06 Sep 2009
An interesting but slow and moody film with little or no action, and set in the Luberon in France and in London England, which will test your concentration levels when the end credits scroll. I will not give the plot away as it is one of those films in which you have to re-think some of the scenes over and over again, and then you can make your own mind up. If you require a film in which everything is explained in black and white, and the ending is explained in detail then this film is not for you, or perhaps unable to understand the hidden nuances of speech then watch a Hollywood block-buster instead. Also there are some very sexual scenes in it which would be unsuitable for children along with the plot, which would bewilder those with less concentration skills.
Also both French and English are spoken, and subtitles are included.
The lead actresses play their parts excellently.
