Review of The Pool (2001) by Daisy M — 01 May 2010
French director Francois Ozon brought this fantastic style of thriller drama Swimming Pool. Though the plot started not so difficult as it might overcome, but it had a dreaming and mysterious touch. Even the movie took its time to create this impression, with at times it was funny and sometimes sharp.
But it demanded some brain to think whether this was real happening or just a fantasy tale of an author's mind. The sexuality and nudity in this movie was very obvious which is common in European movies, but in this movie it was necessary because they were such a crucial factors of the writer Sarah Morton's personality.
The ending caused you to examine the movie and then some scenes made more sense.
