Review of The Pledge (2001) by Thomas M — 27 Jul 2007
A sullen character piece, ripe with clichés, that makes time for the protagonist to go on fishing trips in the midst of his "obsession". And why is he so obsessed? Because a grieving religious woman held a cross at him? Get over it.
It's a mediocre short story in slow motion, with Nicholson at his least convincing. Boring and annoying .
