An oft forgotten movie when reviewing Jack Nicholsons A+ career, this is truly one of his finest performances. The dark subject matter of child murder, the serious direction from Sean Penn and the weird cameos (Benicio Del Toro, The Guy Who Played Danny Noonan in Caddyshack) all serve to paint a bleak and at times distressing picture.
