Review of The Pledge (2001) by Ryan G — 18 Jun 2011
Sean Penn delivers one hell of an atmosphere based film. The Pledge includes quite possibly The best performance of Jack Nicholson's career. It starts off really hard, in fact it's hard to watch at times.
It run's really smoothly and does not get lost in itself. The film is really about parents, how they are protectors and there isn't one in the world that is not over protective. It is also a fantastic study of a man, a lot of people did not seem to get it I noticed, what the movie is really about is Jerry Black.
It's also about making a pledge and a promise.
