Review of The Pledge (2001) by Andrew S — 25 Feb 2009
Pretty decent thriller. Ending is rather anti-climatic, and somewhat disappointing. The second half of the description of the film above is spot on, except for the bit about the trust always not setting you free - I don't disagree with this in and of itself, but (SPOILER ALERT) Nicholson's character never gets to know the truth in the end.
This, ultimately, is incredibly dissatisfying.
