Review of The Player (1992) by Luke G — 17 Jun 2007
A fascinating look into the greedy, selfish, and desceptive world of Hollywood! Tim Robins plays a big shopt studio producer who understands the Hollywood game: always use big stars, sex and vulgarity are always a must, and you HAVE to have a happy ending in your film or the audience won't by it.
The genius of this film is that it plays by those very same rules in a dark, satirical, and comedic way. Also, watch for tons of celebrity cameos, as well as references to your favorite films.
