Review of The Player (1992) by P. P — 28 Dec 2007
I saw this in the theatre repeatedly when it first came out and for some reason, had a hankering to see it again in 2007 (I was having Robert Altman cravings, - dedicated cineastes aka film geeks get those sometimes!).
The player doesn't disappoint in 2007, this crackling satirical romp just seems to improve with multiple viewings and the wit is still as sharp as ever. My favourite Atlman flicks are the 70s stuff but anyone who denies that "The Player" is addictive to watch has no sense of fun.
Watching TIm Robbins makes me want to view Bob Roberts again. Hmm, now I know what to get on my next visit to the good video store!
