Review of The Player (1992) by Stephen W — 23 Apr 2008
A clever film about idiotic studio machinatons, with Tim Robbins on excellent creepy form. A movie parody that deliberately inhabits all the cliches of formulaic studio movies, especially in its ending, but is very well filmed by Altman (who is an acquired taste, and not normally mine - for example I am not a fan of M.
A.S.H.). Probably worth watching several times just to play the game of "what is that guy from?".
