Review of The Player (1992) by Senthil M — 19 Aug 2008
Loved it. Pretty funny (and true) in the way the film makes fun of Producers in Hollywood. Also, I loved the 'mobius strip' structure of the film. After watching the film, just watch the opening scene again and you'll see what I am talking about. You can use this film easily in the movie game as almost every actor in existence has a cameo in this movie.
Robert Altman has fantastic tracking shots - its clear to see why Paul Thomas Anderson credits Altman as a major stylistic influence, as the opening scene of 'Boogie Nights' is shot very similar to this movie's.
See it.
