Review of The Player (1992) by Harlan H — 29 Aug 2008
A funny and at times dark satire of Hollywood, The Player is never boring, and has great characters. Like all Robert Altman films, it has great cinematography (it opens with a 6ish minute tracking shot, where all the actors improv their lines), and his direction is perfect.
The ending is a perfect finish, and really drives it home.
