Review of The Player (1992) by Megs S — 11 Apr 2004
So, I watched The Player and Arlington Road last night.
I'm not a big fan of those movies about Hollywood and stuff...but you know, The Player was pretty good. The acting was good, I mean. Also I laughed my ass off when Julia Roberts and Bruce Willis starred in that movie at the end...it was just so TYPICAL.
As for Arlington Road...it was good, yeah. Not really my cup of tea, but once again, Tim was good...and so was Joan Cusack. Also, the ending was pretty spifftastic. I have a feeling my dad would like this movie more than I did, so I'm going to have to recommend it. Next up is Short Cuts. What a fucking long movie.
When I reached down to grab it at Blockbuster, it was attached to another box with a rubberband. I was just like WTF? Until my genius mind grasped it...it's two tapes long! Which is a long time. I have to watch Jay and Conan tonight, so...it looks like I'll be up till a bit past four AM. Go me. On the plus side, the fact that it was a two-parter gave me a chance to flirt with the guy behind the counter. He was like "What a high tech system...", regarding the rubber band holding the boxes together. Then he gave me another one :D.
Getting more personal, I had a really, really, REALLY weird dream last night. I hope no one's reading this, because it's so embarrassing...but yeah, the dream involved Peter Gallagher and Tim Robbins (who else?). And I was going to some kind of school for girls, like in The Magdalene Sisters. And Peter Gallagher was always accusing me of being a whore. So I told him that I wasn't, that I was still a virgin or something, so he got down on his knees, depantsed me, and checked  The whole time, his assistant (I think it was John Cusack. Man, I'm watching too many movies lately...) kept going "This is WRONG! this is wrong!" But Peter, the perve, kept "checking". How disturbing.
I'm going to go take a bath and try to get the dirty feeling off of me. Not really, I just wanna go on a walk since it's nice outside. Laters.
Nutmegs (Starr's new weird nickname for me. I like it).
