This tried trope circumnavigates genre oblivion proffering, and indeed, promulgating novel allegorical nuance; though the denouement did suffer from the beleaguered malady of pedant dogmatism. Auteur, canon, character arc, movie-reviewer-cliche, empty syntax, platitude, platitude, etc.
If you watch the trailer for The Platform and think you would find it interesting and enjoyable, you're probably right. If you're still unsure, I'd advise doing a basic overview of how the movie has been received and ranked by several different sources.
