Review of The Plague of the Zombies (1966) by Private U — 30 May 2008
No, this is nothing like NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. Hammer cleverly uses the zombies as a metaphor for the working class, exploited by the aristocracy (to be fair, WHITE ZOMBIE did the same thing in 1932, but that film was essentially a love story).
Great make-up effects, and some genuinely creepy moments.
