Review of The Plague Dogs (1982) by James R — 15 Feb 2009
A beautiful film, but at the same time haunting and depressing. Adult themes concerning the ethical treatment of animals, and testing with diseases. Very morbid, and most certainly not a child's film.
Very clever film-making by revealing the mysteries slowly by human conversation, but in sound only while we still watch the dogs attempt to survive. It helps develop the plot while simultaneously not taking away from the action.
