Review of The Plague Dogs (1982) by Kevin M — 09 Jul 2009
Unquestionably the greatest talking animal cartoon ever made, not for the little ones. The escaped dogs, Rowf and Snitter, have a great codependent relationship, genuine character arcs and moments of badassery.
Their struggle to survive is as brutal as it is beautiful, in a bleak sort of way. Hand-drawn animation is breathtaking. Look up the uncut version on YouTube if you can handle the horrible sound quality.
