Review of The Plague Dogs (1982) by Cory B — 04 Feb 2011
I remember a cousin telling me about this one when I was little and it popped up on my Netflix recommended list. This is a great film. It's dark and grim but powerful voice acting and a tight narrative help the viewer relate to the plight of the two escaped dogs and stay interested.
This is a great example of the potential of animation when it comes to conveying more serious subject matter. I can't believe I haven't read anything about this film over the years. Sorta like "Precious" in the way that, as sad and depressing as it is, it's also equally good.
