Review of The Plague Dogs (1982) by Jeremy W — 13 Jul 2013
An animated film about 2 dogs that escape an animal research testing facility & seek freedom from the tortures they have experienced, "The Plague Dogs" is a sad & tragic film, yet touching when you watch & understand the plot. It hurts me that there are certain humans who still treat animals like nothing (but not me), & this movie is taken through the eyes of the 2 dogs as they try to escape from the hellish treatment that was put upon them. The animation was a little realistic (adding to the dramatic feeling the viewer may feel) & the musical score is magnificently haunting/evocative.
If you want to check "The Plague Dogs" out, go ahead. But if you are an animal lover (case in point, dogs) & are sensitive to how animals are treated, then this film may not be for you; unless you want to watch it, be prepared to cry by the ending. Such a touching & sad animated film.
