Review of The Place Beyond the Pines (2013) by Analogkid280 — 20 Apr 2013
Three movies for the price of one, or a great lesson on how your actions today can affect things for years to come. You decide. Many scenes you feel the suspense not because of what you don't know that will happen but because you know exactly what will.
Bradley Cooper is almost unrecognizable with his character being so opposite from his more comedic roles we have seen. Eva Mendes is excellent as always as she carries many scenes with her emotion. Ryan Gosling plays a similar role as in Drive but with this movie he gets to do the things you were expecting with that other artsy film.
If I had to sum this movie up into one word it would be, satisfying.
