Claymation is just really cool and my opinion is biased because I love it so much and have a nostalgic soft spot in my heart for Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run, And old Christmas specials, and this movie just made itself right at home in it.
Not to mention it is pretty funny, and had a lot of great action scenes.
