I love Ardman animated movies--they have such joie de vivre. In this one, the Pirate Captain (voiced by Hugh Grant and sounding very little like himself) is certain he'll win Pirate of the Year--it's down to statistics, after all.
Except, of course, that it isn't. In the course of his plundering, he and his crew happen upon the Beagle and Charles Darwin (David Tennant), who immediately recognized the Pirate Captain's beloved "parrot" Polly as the last living dodo.
Thus begins a hilarious romp through London and back across the seven seas. Will the Pirate Captain win Pirate of the Year? You'll have to watch and find out.
