Review of The Pirates (2014) by Crystal E — 02 Jun 2015
I don't get it. I mean they are making an over the top Pirate film like it's the Asian version of Pirates of the Caribbean. Awful CGI with obvious green screen moments. The acting is so "cartoonish" with some cheesy dialogues, and this is maybe one of the corniest Asian adventure flicks in a long time.
It could really have a potential for a big budgeted films like these, but it failed big time. In terms of execution and character development, it could have been better. Overacting and over used of CGI effects.
Maybe I just wasted 2 hours of my life watching this crap. 2 stars out of 5.
