Peter Seller is definitely a contender for the all-time funniest comedian. The story line is absurd, but just watching Sellers character and line delivery is hilarious. This is probably the dumbest story that you will laugh the hardest at.
The whole scene from when he enters the mansion to begin his investigation until he accidentally shoots the commissioner has my vote for the funniest scene caught on film. I have probably been watching this movie for 20 years now, and it really does just get funnier each time.
Unfortunately only a few of the pink Panther movies are so funny.
