Review of The Pink Panther (2006) by Curt C — 16 Aug 2009
I went the wrong direction and watched the sequel before this film. After finding PP2 quite enjoyable, I was surprised that this film turned out to be a bit of a dud.
Is Steve Martin missing the effective straight men from the sequel? Is John Cleese a funnier Dreyfus than Kline? Regardless, I found the comedic scenes in PP too short and underwhelming, and the ending sequence a bit disappointing. I was set to give it 1.5 but ... come on. Hamburger! The "walk" sign. There's my three minutes of hilarity.
