Review of The Pink Panther (2006) by Jamy S — 27 Mar 2012
While I admit this is not nearly as good as the Sellers-lead Panther films, I kind of enjoyed this remake. Martin was pretty okay as Clouseau. There are plenty of good little jokes in here, but I don't think it was much more than an average comedy.
The plot is sub-par, some of the gags don't land...but Martin's wordplay in Clouseau's over-French accent can be pretty funny. I don't know why anyone casts Beyonce in anything. I won't say its for everyone, but I think too many people overly criticized this remake for it's lack of Sellers and just for being a remake.
I personally had a good time watching this, as it was superior to the Sellers-less Panther movies of the past.
