Review of The Pink Panther (2006) by Dann M — 19 May 2013
Steve Martin is on the case in The Pink Panther. When the coach of France's national soccer team is murdered and his famous Pink Panther diamond stolen, bumbling police detective Inspector Jacques Clouseau is tasked with solving the case.
Co-starring Kevin Kline, Jean Reno, and Emily Mortimer, the cast is pretty good and has a talent for this style of broad comedy. However, it's the comedy stylings of Steve Martin that have to carry the film, and he does a great job with the slapstick humor.
Still, there's a lot of juvenile stuff that doesn't really work, and Beyonce Knowles is dead weight. The Pink Panther is a fun film with plenty of laughs, but they don't always land.
