Shame on you all...Martin is at his most charming in this hilarious film as well as its sequal.
If you critics who continue to want to compare him to the original would like to pay attention to what has been said repeatedly...Martin is not trying to replicate the original Clousseau, but instead create his own bumbling French investigator.
Admittedly the films probably wouldn't take as much flack if he had simply created a new but similar franchise...BUT then we would be forced to listen to the endless whining of how he copied the whole thing from the Pink Panther series...at least this way we know what we're getting.
I will be one of the few voices of honesty and reason and state here and now...as much as I enjoyed (most) of the original Pink Panther movies...and Seller's portrayal...I prefer these newer versions hands down...and I think Martin is by far the better comic.
There...now that I have overcome the chains of nostalgia and admitted the truth, maybe the rest of you can as well!
And I would like to buy a hamburger...
