It seems the Pink Panther is so good, that Steve Martin wanted Owen Black to be the 'Snow Leopard', in 'The next big thing.' Dreyfus seems to be annoying, in the movie, but very good and appropriate, and his mental condition starts as Chief Inspector, because he nearly lost his job, and got a promotion, instead.
