Review of The Pier (2011) by Matt M — 26 Oct 2013
A man returns to Ireland from the States to see his dying father, whom he hasn't spoken to for 20 years. The drama is formulaic, which is disappointing, as the cinematography is as interesting as the budget will allow it to be so one should expect more from the screenplay.
Most of its charm comes from the aggressive Irish humour and the obvious one liners of Karl Johnson's father character.
