Review of The Piano Tuner of Earthquakes (2005) by Wut S — 30 Jul 2007
Dreamy, borderlines incomprehensible and consciously obscured in its plot and imagery, The Piano Tuner of Earthquakes summons a surreal, confusingly sleepy experience. If not for the bold concepts, visuals, and amazing sound designs, it would been rated lower for the overconfident esoteric quality.
Heavy in lighting contrasts, monotonic and illusory in hues, the film's most captivating elements lie in its fantasy settings. Cryptic narratives, on the other hand, were too hushed and confounding to grab attention.
Artistically successful but not very enjoyable to watch.
