Review of The Piano Teacher (2001) by Adrian E — 16 Sep 2009
It is unacceptable to like this movie in the first watch. It actually took me 2 nights and 3 days to absorb the concept and do the necessary reasoning. Laudable performances by the lead of course. The story isn't cynical.
The characters are. Depressing, yes. But not artificial as it appears to be. Though it could have been better. Turns out to be haywire at places making it confusing and then disturbing.A skilled handling of a disputable script is as necessary to make the movie potent.
