I know why it won a ton of Academy Awards. They are also the same reasons nobody watches this movie. Character with a disability? Complex beyond necessary characters? No likable characters because they are all wrong/idiots? Stars with nudity? Plot occurs in a different time/place (to add a fake layer of complexity/difficulty/explanation)? Checks around.
Watch it if you hope to vote for the Oscars some day or want your Harvey Keitel penis:Holly Hunter boobs ratio to sit around 3:1. Otherwise, don't give yourself the headache and just watch a more entertaining version of it.
