Review of The Piano (1993) by John S — 10 Oct 2009
Having just watched this movie - the two things that just loom in my mind are the piano score and cinematography. wow and WOW. technically this movie is basically perfect, and the acting is spot on. the drawbacks for me were subject matter and taste.
there's NOTHING left to the imagination (literally), and its a farfetched story to grasp. I mean really: a mail-order deaf bride who performs sexual favors to get her piano back..... awkward - but still effective I suppose.
I wish the ending was as artistically appealing as the beginning, but oh well.... i'll need to watch it again soon.
