Alright, alright... I admit, it was great. A story about a Polish living through the bad times of the World War II is fascinating and fresh. This man is a composer and (look, I don't really know the history) gets separated from his family, while they were trying to save themselves from the Germans. The pianist survives by finding food left in ruined houses he lives in nomadically.

Adrien Brody plays that man valiantly, and we do feel for the poor fella. His trials and tribulations really do affect the audience in a melancholic way. The war scenes in the film were played out pretty well, with German soldiers everywhere torturing the Jews. This is a masterpiece of a film simply because the sad parts were extremely heartfelt. We definitely sympathize with the tortured, and this film absolutely does the trick in the end, when Brody's character delivers his ultimate work.

To cut it short, it's one of those emotional, gripping films.

Personally*... I'm just rambling, but did the Polish speak English back then?
