Review of The Pianist (2002) by Black R — 17 Jun 2011
Wladyslaw Szpilman: I don't know how to thank you.
Captain Wilm Hosenfeld: Thank God, not me. He wants us to survive. Well, that's what we have to believe.
The Pianist shows top class directing and acting like nothing you have seen before. Brody and the cast has done extremely good, showing all the hardships during the Holocaust, how Wladyslaw Szpilman nearly slipped by it, and losing his family and friends on the way. Really sad, it all seems real when watching it the first time. This movie is full of surprises, never thought that natzi captain would actually help him. Roman Polanski scored in this english film, showing off his terrific skills in being a director, and definitely earns his respect from most of us.
