Review of The Pianist (2002) by Cody D — 15 Mar 2013
Im gonna start off with this being one if my favorite movies all time. This film is what started me off getting serious into film reviews an ratings. Since I was only a kid at the time when I saw this later on it made me really think of what was going on in this film. The way Roman Polanski had directed this film was phenomenal he made you feel as if you were part if whats going on. With the first half if the film really showing what kind if reality the jews at this time were living in makes you realize how much they lost over time.
The second half of this film really gets into the "survival" aspect of it all. It really shows Adrien Brody's character strive too find people to help him have that trust and bond with someone to help him survive. As some people would say this films second half is slow its more of what its like trying to survive when your not supposed to be alive. The parts were Wladyslaw doesn't talk really shows how secluded and dangerous it was when he was by himself. This movie is beautifully done and for me not being a fan of learning about the holocaust this is one of my all time favorite movies and the book is even better.
