Review of The Philadelphia Story (1940) by Catherine K — 12 Jun 2008
Macaulay: "This is the Bridal Suite. Would you send up a couple of caviar sandwiches and a bottle of beer?".
Mrs. Lord: "What? Who is this?".
Macaulay: "This is the Voice of Doom calling. Your days are numbered, to the seventh son of the seventh son.".
Mrs. Lord: "Hello? Hello?".
Tracy: "What's the matter?".
Mrs. Lord: "One of the servants has been at the sherry again.".
I have nothing but pure love for this movie. Especially the dialogue. Although the actors delivering the lines are just as good, and Cary Grant has always been one of my favorite actors. This is definitely in my top five films of all time.
