Review of The Philadelphia Story (1940) by Nellie K. A — 28 Dec 2010
Hard not to like this. With Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart onscreen at the time, you're never wanting for entertainment. This is a silly romantic comedy but it's pretty funny and reasonably witty as well.
The little girl is actually the best part - her character is hilarious. But so is Stewart once he gets sufficiently hammered and insists on calling Grant's character by his full name of C. K. Dexter Haven as well as hitting on the soon-to-be-married Hepburn; all the while his girlfriend Liz takes everything supremely well.
