Review of The Philadelphia Story (1940) by John H — 09 Nov 2011
Although I think it's a tad below "Bringing Up Baby", it still is a remarkable comedy that holds up well. Hepburn and Grant are hysterical together, Stewart throws in a few punches as well.
It's not as insane in story as other 30's comedies prior to it, but it struck a chord with moviegoers at the time that couldn't be equaled soonafter, with the war disrupting Hollywood's output.
