Review of The Phantom Wagon (1939) by Brad G — 14 Sep 2011
Amazing special effects for the early 1920s with some very natural acting, Körkarlen is a horror film without blood and guts as the horror is in the missed opportunities and kindnesses. Very interesting story, made more so by the use of flashbacks which must have been very innovative at the time.
My only dislike was the ending, which SPOILERS I didn't think fitted with the tone of the rest of the film.
