Review of The Phantom of the Opera (1925) by Chance L — 13 Apr 2010
Many people ask, what's the greatest horror film ever made? Well, I say this one. That's right: Phantom of the Opera from 1925 beats The Exorcist, Jaws, Dracula, Frankenstein, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween and hundreds of others.
The only film that comes close to this is Alfred Hitchocock's Psycho, and the only thing that makes this film better is that in a way, Psycho repeats itself with murders, but this doesn't. One of the greatest silent films possible.
