Review of The Phantom Carriage (1921) by Private U — 24 Nov 2008
I had the pleasure of watching this masterpiece on the big screen with live music by a bunch of talented fellows (namely â??good luck mister gorskyâ?? and â??eventless plotâ??) which made the experience truly unique.
A dark masterpiece of a simple story with moral precepts, unfolding through the maze of the charactersâ?? interconnecting lives. The performances strike a wonderful balance between natural simplicity and the necessary exaggerated expressions of silent films.
Gloomy and uncanny it keeps the viewersâ?? interest with a stunning direction!
