Review of The Petrified Forest (1973) by Curt S — 22 Dec 2007
It's pretty obvious that this was a stage play converted into a movie. Like a lot of "serious" theater, it wears its somewhat contrived ideas in neon lights on its sleeve. A little too self-important for me, especially since I was expecting a straight-up gangster flick.
(But I will say that this is the first time I've seen a pretty Bette Davis on screen. And that's worth something.).
