Review of The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012) by Kyle C — 31 Jul 2014
My life in high school must be boring.
Considering Charlie, a shy freshman, did ALL of these things during his freshmen year makes me think about how little I've done in high school. Maybe Junior year is my year.
Enough about me, what did I think about this movie? I was looking forward to seeing this movie for a long time, especially since I have a crush on Emma Watson. So when I finally got to see it, here were my thoughts (I haven't read the book btw).
The Perks of Watching this Movie:
1. I have a crush on Emma Watson. She is studious, seems nice, and hot. Perfect combo.
2. The acting is very good. I love all of the leads in this movie. They express a lot of teenage emotions, despite being in their 20s.
3. Very emotional at some points. I love how the climax actually felt like well, a climax.
3. This is very unique movie. It's quirky and fun, using its own unique spin on life in high school. Does it get too out of the ordinary sometimes? Sure. The Rocky Horror Picture Show part was a bit too odd for my taste. But it was still fun.
My only complaint is how they portrayed high school, which isn't exactly accurate. Minor nit-picking but I guess I expected certain parts to be a little bit more accurate to how high school actually works (like how certain characters reacted to certain situations).
Still, I really enjoyed this movie and hope to read the book once I get my hands on a copy.
8/10 Amazing.
