Review of The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012) by Lana T — 26 Sep 2015
Extremely relatable on so many levels - from the quiet, socially awkward kid to the eccentric person we love. But despite everything, even through all of the crazy, there are beautiful moments that will stay with you for the rest of you life.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a wonderful mimesis of what many of us go through - a high school life as a roller coaster ride of emotions and experiences. It's charming and thoughtful, but also heartrending and true. This film was also written and directed gracefully, with performances of the most engaging kind. Truly something that would resonate with anyone who has felt the incessant clawing of adolescence.
