Review of The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012) by Zane F — 18 Apr 2015
It has its moments, but ultimately, it just doesn't translate well into screen. The book is able to focus on all the different aspects of this boys year while the movie seems to pass everything off as a minor detail, leaving it with little to no plot at all.
When I read te book, I found it so touching and had high standards especially seeing that the movie was being directed by the author, but it just wasn't able to hit any of the same spots. Some actors didn't feel right, and nothing built up to anything.
In all, it's best to just stick to the book with this one.
