Review of The Perfect Weapon (1991) by Steven B — 08 Mar 2015
Above average martial arts actioner from the pre 'Crouching Tiger' days when actual choreographer took second place to exaggerated reaction shots of people landing heavily after being kicked and punched.
Jeff Speakman shows a decent amount of charisma, on top of some decent fight scenes. Not so good are the 'paint by numbers' supporting cast of stereotypical good and bad guys. The main villain is also a massive disappointment, leading to a non-event of a finale. However, the production values are gritty and direct, and the machismo oozes from screen.
