Review of The Perfect Man (2005) by Shinyhair X — 01 Jul 2011
My wife and daughter enjoyed this movie more than I did. They watched it more than once. I thought the premise behind the movie was more cruel than romantic. Don't get me wrong, it is a movie worth watching.
However the plot elements fall together too perfectly to make it believable. Though the characters are likeable and the acting is good, Heather Locklear's character is a poor role model for her daughters.
She is made to realize this by pretending to be her daughter on the Internet. Hilary Duff's character is more the adult figure in the movie, and though her intentions are good, her actions leave much to be desired.
Of course this is glossed over, and all is well in the end. If you are looking for harmless entertainment that you don't have to think too much about (and this is not always a bad thing), give this a go.
